Rep. Mike Hope, R-Lake Stevens, will be traveling to Boise, Idaho to attend the funeral of his grandmother, who passed away Friday, March 27. As a result, he will miss three legislative days this week: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

"I don't like missing legislative votes, but it's important for me to be with my family right now," Hope said. "I look forward to coming back and taking a closer look at the House and Senate budget proposals and what they mean for my district and our state."

Hope said he wants to be open with his constituents about his work in Olympia, and welcomes any questions about how he would have voted on specific bills when he returns.

"There is much to be done to assure we help working families and fully educate our children," Hope said. "It's going to be a busy next three weeks."

The 105-day session is scheduled to adjourn April 26.
